Kelty Pathfinder 3 or Osprey Poco Premium?

We are looking for a backpack kid carrier for long hikes in the White Mountains (NH).  DH and I are both very experienced hikers, and want to get back to the mountains with our LO.  I have heard great things about both the Kelty Pathfinder and the Osprey Poco.  Both are attractive to us for the size, the built-in sunshades, and the removable daypacks.  Anyone have thoughts on either one?  (or other recommendations?)

  • We love the Deuter II Kid Carrier. I can't remember its exact name. It does not have the removable daypack option though. We have used it for long hikes in VT and NH. It has great storage space. DH and DS both find it very comfortable. We went to an EMS and tried different carriers on to see which one works for us. I would recommend doing that before buying. Good luck and happy hiking!
