#1 I don't know what you said, and I don't really care what you said/don't want to feel stupid for not hearing you, so I'm going to smile, nod, and say "Yeah" or "Uh huh" like I did hear. Then I'm going to act distracted by something and walk away.
I do this probably 10 times a day. I think I have a hearing problem. I probably have a social problem instead.
#2 My kid has breakfast on the carpet on weekdays. We lay out a blanket (a clean one each day), and lay his breakfast out on it so that we can get ourselves ready in the morning. Due to this, there is a good deal of banana stuck in my carpet right now, and DS has learned that he can eat anything he finds on the floor.

Bahahaha. I can totally relate to you guys. Steel, maybe you need a dog? We have snacks on the floor a few times a week and our 4-legged vacuum cleaner is right there to clean up. I never even have to actually vacuum up a food mess.
And our carpet is completely disgusting too, eh.
For us...I've been giving DS those puree pouches way more than I should be. I used to buy them only for when we would be out of the house during a meal, BUT since he's learned how to eat them without making a huge mess, I give them to him in the house too....I feel so lazy but it's sooooo easy!
Our carpet is so gross these days, and we still have a dog. Actually they even like to lick up baby spit up. Gross gross gross.
This morning before work, I got on my hands and knees and scrubbed the carpet. We may just need to buy a steam cleaner and do some cleaning on Friday.
