Would you go to Europe is May with a 7 mos old and 3.75 yo? Has anyone done a trip like this with these ages? We would go for two weeks to Paris and Rome. I can wear dd2 and we would have a stroller for dd1. WWYD?
Europe is incredible, if you have a chance to go, I'd say take it! But I'm a first time mom, and only you know whether you'll be able to enjoy the trip with the kiddos or stress too much. Would it just be the four of you, or would any other adults grandparents? be along to help out too?
Looks like I'm going to be a loner here, but I would not, but for a variety of personal reasons.
1) I hate traveling on a plane long distances. I couldn't fathom doing it with children that young, for that long of a time. People do it, but I couldn't. (unless I had to, but just for a random vacation, I would not).
2) I'm not a big fan of big vacations when children aren't old enough to remember. Wisconsin Dells, short weekend trips to a friends lake house, camping, etc, sure. But I'm not packing up my kids to take them to Disney World until they can remember they went.
3) Traveling out of the country with kids would make me nervous due to the difference in foods. What if they don't like anything over there? Would you have enough Cheerios in your bag to get them through?
Again, these are just my own personal opinions. Take them with a grain of salt.

Thanks all. I should mention the reason for the trip is DH's BFF's wedding in Paris. Dd1 is a great eater so no worries there. Flight time is 10 hours minimum, depending on route.
I'd be most worried about the flights, honestly. Rome is a nice city for walking and if you have a stroller, you'll be fine. It's very modern. I don't think finding food options for little ones would be a problem. I've never been to Paris, but I'm sure it's similar.
I just found out my cousin is getting married in England in Sept. If I could afford to go I sure would, but I also only have one baby. I say go for it!
Nope, wouldn't do it. But for me it's a personal choice...I've been to Rome and Paris and you couldn't pay me to go back. I couldn't even imagine doing those cities with a baby - let alone two!!
I think you should do it! It'll be rough with that long flight, but I think it's a great opportunity, especially if your husband is going. If I had to do it myself, it'd be a bit different. But I'm guessing European vacations don't come up every day for you?

It depends on how much it costs and how much vacation time it would eat up. Right now those too factors would be too much for me to justify it. I would rather do a cheaper trip on the beach with a baby for ease and save Europe for when they are older and can appreciate it more.
I haven't traveled with 2 kids to Europe yet but we did go when DD1 was 19 months and I was 3 month pg with DD2. DD1 did better than I expected and easily adapted and went with the flow. My suggestion would be to take a red eye so your kids will sleep. But to answer your question, if you can afford to go, I definitely would.
Nope. I wouldn't do it. The time change is pretty much the only reason I would say no. I can't imagine trying to get a preschooler and a baby adjusted to the time difference twice. I love my sleep and I don't think it would be worth losing a month of sleep. I'm pretty sure if it's something I really wanted to do, there would be another opportunity at a later date.
I get panic attacks just thinking about vacations (and how not relaxing they would be) with 2 little kids. Call me crazy and selfish, but I'd want to enjoy myself and I don't see how that would be possible.
More info, it was a 15 hour flight from Seattle to Madrid, baby slept the whole time. Yes it was tough with the 9 hour time change, but we just made it work. We bought baby food and formula abroad, it was fine. My parents live in Spain so that's why we went. We had a fabulous time and I'd go again in a heartbeat. In fact, I've already told my Mom that if she buys our airfare, I'll fly over by myself with both kids. DH can't get that much time off work anymore.
For my BFF's wedding, yes. No question. Have fun!!
We are doing it with DS this June. I honestly am more worried going to Cuba next month with him than going to Europe. European countries have everything we have here so no worries there. As for the flight, I'm taking a night flight so I'm hoping DS will sleep most of it. I'm only worried about the jet lag but since we are going to be there for 3 weeks, I'm hoping it'll get resolved within the first week.
