When did your child lose first tooth

Just curious, DS is 6y2m and no sign of them being loose.

  • DS lost his first(and only) tooth at 5y7m.

  • Son at 6y3m, Daughter 5y6m.  A lot of their friends didn't lose their first tooth until they were in second grade so they were 7 years old.

  • My oldest lost his first tooth on st. Patty's day last year. He was in kindergarten and 6 years 1 month old. He has only lost two teeth so far. He will be 7 on wed.

  • My kids were both around 5 1/2, but it seemed that among their friends and classmates this was sort of on the early side.  When I volunteered in DD's kindy classroom, they kept a chart in the classroom, and there were MANY kids who had lost no teeth at all as of the end of K.

My DS celebrated his 6th birthday with a gigantic gap.

I also noticed that with one of my kids (DS) his teeth went from "not loose at all" to "hanging by a thread" in a short time, as in 2 or 3 weeks.  DD would nurse a loose tooth for MONTHS.

  • DD#1 has lost 4 teeth so far and has 3 more that are loose.  She lost the 1st one just before her 6th birthday and the 2nd one a few weeks later and then lost the next 2 about 6 months later, also within a few weeks of each other.

  • My son is 6.5 years old and no sign of them being loose yet.
  • DD was 5y3m.  DS is 7 and still hasn't lost one.  He has an underbite and the dentist said it could be related to that.

  • Oldest is 6.5 with no sign of a loose tooth in sight.

Dentist said that his teeth are crowded so he's not surprised.

Dentist also said that they don't worry about it until age 8 or 9 unless they have teeth coming in on top of each other and causing discomfort or problems with chewing or cleaning.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
  • DS1 recently lost his fist tooth at 6y1m and his second at 6y2m.
