Saline sono

Had my saline sono this morning. It went so smoothly I couldn't believe it! On the downside though, I have a polyp that has to go before cycling again. Probably looking at a 4 to 6 week wait for a hysteroscopy then one break cycle to recover. Then we'll hopefully get the green light to go again.

Ugh, I hate waiting. At least it's only 4 to 6 weeks for the hysteroscopy, I was worried I'd be waiting several months! DH will be away for 3 months starting in september, so time is ticking!

Re: Saline sono

  • Did your RE say why you have to wait so long for the hysteroscopy?  Just curious, because mine did it ASAP (I think I had the saline sono on a Thursday and we did the procedure that Monday or Tuesday).  It's bad enough waiting the extra cycle after the procedure, I hate that they are making you wait a few weeks just to have it.

  • Yes, I'm in Alberta, Canada. It's just the way the healthcare system is here. The delay sucks, but the upside is I don't have to pay OOP for much yet. Just part of the meds and the actual iui's.

    Edited: for clarity

  • Well, that's a bummer, but not the worst news.  FWIW, I had mine done before my first IVF, because the RE wanted to give the embryo the best chance of sticking (more space with the polyp removed), and we now have DD as a result!

Wishing you equally good luck with your procedures!
