I don't know if it's because I have the "cheap" brand or if I'm doing something wrong but for some reason I can not seem to get M "deep" enough into it... there is zero support for her neck or head (not that she needs it anymore, but when she falls asleep she does) and the top of it only comes to mid-shoulder blade. Is that normal? I also can't seem to make it not hurt my back, like I can't get her close enough or something... ugh. Any advice would be appreciated. I have the Infantino brand Mei Tai, I think I want to get a different one (something less stiff) but I really don't have $100 to spend on a carrier right now

Re: Help with my mei tai
You are using this with your toddler, right? If so...it's not going to come up super high on her as it's a smaller bodied carrier. You can use the sleep hood though if she needs head support while sleeping. To make sure she's bounced as much as she can be, pull straight up on the straps and bounce bounce bounce while tugging up on the straps, then tie off.
Are you doing a front or back carry?
Usually feeling kiddo isn't close enough means you need to pull the straps tighter before tying.

Yup, M is 15months. That makes sense then, and of course I lost the little hood forever ago
Back carry, she despises being on my front because she likes to look around. I feel like I'm always untying and retying the straps too... is that normal in a mei tai? It's like I can never get them tight enough
