March 2012 Moms

Anyone out there??

Any of you moms out there with a chronically sick/congested/coldish baby out there?? LO has issues with asthma that I realize can cause some sickness, but literally every other week he's stuffy, congested, fussy, and just sick. I know when I was a baby I was always sick, but this whole thing just befuddles me. Right now he's got watery eyes, runny nose, coughing, and he's up all night coughing bc he still hasn't figured out how to breathe out of his mouth. Any of you other moms having this issue??

Re: Anyone out there??

  • DS suffered from congestion and was miserable every other week. He caught EVERYTHING at DC. We were doing breathing treatments 3 times a day for quite a while.

More recently our doc diagnosed him with infantile asthma and prescribed a different medication that we give him once a day. He sounds alot better.

I would talk to your doctor about your concerns.

LO has all kinds of specialists and things... The medications and breathing treatments work great, but as soon as he's better another little cold afflicts him. It's just becoming really frustrating for us and tiring for him I'm sure.

  • DS has had a runny congested nose basically since the day he started daycare. And in the past month has been sick three times, a cold, then stomach flu and a cold again. It's never ending. But if he is anything like me I have really bad asthma and allergic to everything under the sun so I have a runny/stuffy nose myself every day of the year.

  • So glad you posted this!  DD Just got over a cold about two weeks ago and then woke up stuffy again two nights ago.  None of us are sick this time around so I have no idea where it came from.  Well the only things I can think of is we go to a mommy and me class each week so maybe from being around the other kids..putting things in her mouth, etc..could be it.  Sometimes I think she has allergies though.  She is always rubbing it like it itches. I have seasonal allergies so maybe she has them like me Sad

  • It seem like my daughter has had a cold since Sept 2012. There have been numerous ER visits and dr visits. It improves but never seems to fully go away. She was diagnosed with a form of bronchitis. The humidifier does help esp at night!!

this is pretty much us too. The last ER visit earned him a 3 day stay in the hospital which was awful and peace of mind too. We live in Ohio so I highly attribute a lot of his sickness to weather, but very truthfully LO pretty much doesn't leave the house much. I'm really hoping that spring is around the corner and allows LO to get a break!
