I'm going to be traveling with my little one soon, and he is obviously going to need food and milk at some point during the flight. I certainly do not want to buy him the junk they sell inside airport terminals, and do they even sell milk in terminals?
What has your experience been with taking healthy snacks through security at airports? Will they confiscate them and leave a child with no food?
I'm assuming that I may probably be able to get whole milk at a coffee shop around a terminal, but I am sure it's not going to be organic as my son is used to.

Re: Toddler Snacks & Airport Security
You can bring snacks for your kids. I always bring a couple of sippy cups of milk and/or juice for each and snacks (fruit puree packets, etc.) I have never had a problem. Once we had TSA ask me to open the sippy cups so that they could test the liquids with litmus paper (they just hold the paper over the top, no dipping into the liquid). I always put all the sippy cups in my insulated bag and let TSA know when I get up to them that there are liquids for the kids in that bag. And yes, you can buy milk in most airports.
Did you bring the milk in the sippy cups from home? Or did you purchase it at the airport?
I have taken bottles, and they just test it like PP said. Although, I would guess there is milk in the terminals. Most restaurants sell it at least, not sure about the convenience stores there. You can take your sippy cup and transfer it.
Good to know about the pouches. Any food that isn't liquid should be fine to take thru security as well. A lot of people pack a whole lunch to eat on their plane, so I'm sure a banana and apple are cool. I have brought back NM chile numerous times, and it's always fine.
The restrictions is on liquids not food.... I've always and still do bring full meals through security with me when I travel. It has never been an issue. What is regulated are liquids greater than 3.2oz and the TSA has tons of Q&A's on their website about what you are allowed to bring when traveling with an infant under the age of 2. You are allowed to bring sippy cups of milk and water for your child through security. At a smaller airport it took 15 mins to get through security, while at Ft Lauderdale it took 45 mins when it was my turn and I packed the same way for both airports- it took 30 mins of waiting in line for me to be stopped for 45 mins with my bags getting searched. They were a giant PITA and put each ice pack, food pouch, teething ring, empty cup, you name it from the bags through the xray machine separately. And yes, I was in the family line!! They didn't confiscate a single item.
I have nothing to add to the conversation, but I just wanted to let you know that you've got me craving green chili now.
