I had pre-e, LO developed IUGR and I had a c-section with my LO. I never discussed how long I should wait with my OB...although, I guess I should make an appointment and do that.
The reason I am thinking about TTC again is because I had IF (diagnosis was DOR) with my first baby and just got some test results back (AMH levels) that were very, very bad and may indicate I don't have much time before going into menopause.
Re: How long after c-section until you can TTC?
This - My OB said to wait at least 9 months before TTC, which would be at least 18 months between c-sections.
After 7 years of no ovulation...

I had to do IVF both times, and I was rapidly approaching 40 (which I hit a few days ago), so both my RE and OB recommended trying again ASAP, and preferably before turning 40. So, since we weren't sure if we'd be lucky on the first try again, I went back to the RE shortly after DD was born for testing and getting a plan together, and I was back on BCPs for my IVF cycle by the time DD was 5 months old.
Definitely not ideal planning, but luckily we were successful on the first try again, and since I'm having my tubes tied, we're planning on a RCS. Just hoping the pregnancy is as uneventful as our first.
IVF #1: 9/11: ER: 12R, 11M, 10F, No Frosties; 5dt: 2 blasts, 1 morula; DD born 6/3/12
IVF #2: 11/12-12/12: ER: 20R, 20M, 16F, 4 Frosties; 5dt: 3 blasts, DS born 8/9/13
DS1 and ds2 are 15mths apart, ds2 and ds3 are 20 1/2 months apart.
My OB never gave me a time frame and when I came in pg with ds2 he just laughed and shook his head (we have a very joking/friendly relationship). He did say they like there to be 18 mths between deliveries if you wanted a vbac but they would allow me to attempt it with ds2. I had no desire and planned my c/s.
I would follow what the doctor says and keep up to date with the recent studies like the below:
