Are carseat canopies a must-have, a good idea, or a waste? I am a FTM and They look cute, but do the babies got hot under them in the hot humid summer? (I live in Baltimore, and the humidity is killer) or do they really keep LO cool? It just seems to me it would keep the heat in rather than just make it shady..
So anyone use them? Am I overthinking? A must-have or a don't bother?

Are you talking about those fitting cotton covers? I wouldn't bother. If you have the A&A swaddle blankets, they double really well as carseat cover-up and they are so gauzy that you wouldn't worry about them affecting heat or CO2 buildup. The only issue is keeping them in place if you are on the move.
I've had some older ladies completely disregard the blanket over the carseat to take it upon themselves for an uninvited peek. The nerve!!!
I have never used one either.
