What does everyone use to clean/sterilize new baby's toys? We have received many from family and friends and I'm wanting to clean them before giving them to my newborn. Anyone have any recs as to what they have done? Thanks!
Cloth/fabric- we washed in the washing machine, plastic we washed in dish soap and dryed. I didn't sterilize anything except for pacis and bottles, which I did in a pot of boiling water.
If its plastic, dishsoap and water. With fabric toys, unless they have squeakers, jigglers or metal chimes inside, they went into the clothes washer on the gentle cycle or in a sweater bag. If it gets ruined, well then it's not meant for a practical household with a baby (especially if it's second hand). Some things I hand washed and air dried if you're ok with the extra effort.
There's no need to use artificial chemicals or wipes to "sterilize" for an infant unless you are on the go and don't have quick access to soap and water. White vinegar also makes for a safe and effective natural cleaner for hard surfaces, including toys.

Cloth/stuffed items go into the washer on hot. If it's a sizable stuffed animal, I hand wash it very thoroughly.
Plastic items get hand-washed on hot with dish soap unless I feel very comfortable putting them into the dishwasher.
Bottles/pacis/things like that get boiled.
