Also on BF board...
So I read all these posts about 5, 6, 7, 8 weeks old babes sttn... im wondering if they are all ff ? ... I am breastfeeding and wonder how much this really changes my lil guys ability to sttn... I dont want to supplement but im getting a lil jealous of the sleepers.... do u think its a developmental thing or formula vs. breast milk issue?

I would love for him to sleep longer but I've actually adjusted to the sleeping schedule.
I can fall asleep relatively quickly after feeding him a bottle and putting him back down.
My husband could sleep 15 hours a day if I would let him. Maybe it's a generic predisposition to hibernation?
DD is BF and she sleeps from about 12am to 7am... last night was from 1230am to 9am

i agree with this. Both my kids were/are FF. DD was a great sleeper where we'd only get up once a night (down by 9pm, up once then back to sleep till it was time to get up) and was sleeping through the night by 3 months. DS is the opposite up every three hours (sometimes more often than that) and it takes us at least an hour to get him back to sleep if he even goes back at all.
It's different for every baby, and just because a baby sleeps longer now, doesn't mean it will continue, and vice versa.
My son is FF. He has been sleeping 6-7 hours a night for over a week now. He is 9 weeks old.
I don't know if being FF is why, but that's our story!
He isn't sleeping through my night, but let me tell you getting 4-5 hours of consecutive sleep is blissful, even if it's not the 7 I shoot for myself!
My DD (BFed) is 11 weeks and just started sleeping 5-6 hours at night this past week. I am beyond jealous of people who have had babies do that for a while.
Definitely depends on the baby. Both of my kids were/are FF. DD was doing the official six-hour stretch around 3-4 weeks. By 8 weeks she slept from her dreamfeed at 9:30 to 7:00am.
DS does not sleep as well. It's a real bummer for me. The most he has ever gone is five hours. Most nights it's about 4.5-5 hours.
