Babies: 0 - 3 Months

If your baby STTN - come in!

My little guy (knock on wood!!!) has begun to sttn - giving us anywhere from 7-8 hours of sleep. Problem is, I can't sttn!!!! I find myself waking at odd hours - wondering if he's okay, did he make a noise, etc. I haven't had a good night's sleep yet! When your baby started sttn, did you go through something similar? Did your body just eventually adjust?

Re: If your baby STTN - come in!

  • Your body should adjust.  Even when DS started STTN I was still waking up on the old schedule ready to feed him!  It's been over a month now and I've adjusted.  I only wake up when I hear him rustling/making noise on the monitor.

  • My DS has slept through most night for a while now.  I have an angel care monitor so I can look over and see he is still breathing.  I did worry and wake up at first but I can just look at the monitor.  That crazy monitor was worth the extra money so I can sleep better.
  • I was the same way and still am I think the most sleep I get is five hours straight, DH is cute as well he wakes up all the time and goes and checks on him or wakes me to see when the last time I checked on him, even though we ahve the monitor right beside us and it is an angel care monitor!

  • I'm just a voyeur in here, as DS is most definitely NOT STTN, however, I did the same thing when he started to sleep longer stretches.  I'd wake up wondering why he hadn't woken up yet.  It took a few days, but I got over it.

  • LOL I am SO with you.  He's been sleeping 6-9 hours at night for a little bit now, but I wake up out of habit.  Then once it's been more than 5 hours, I wake up every hour to go check on him!  I do think we will get used to it & it will pass eventually!

  • You will adjust. The first night I woke up engorged and the second night I woke up to see if she was still breathing. I would even check on her blanket and/or turn the swing back on. I had no idea what to do with myself!
