This week is DS's special kid week at school. The teacher sent home a note saying that we should send in a healthy treat for the class to enjoy on Friday. It has to be store bought. I'm at a loss because I feel like most store bought/packaged food isn't so healthy. I wanted to make rainbow fruit kabobs but that isn't exactly "store bought," is it?
Re: need ideas--healthy treat for preschool
Get healthy rolls from a bakery and a jar of nice sugar free jam. Or a nice loaf of bread with jam. We bring snack once a month and DS's teacher still talks about the time we brought bread with jam. Applesauce is a nice snack too.Maybe some nice dried fruit, not just raisins but dried blueberries or mango. Apple chips.
What does your DS love? I always ask for DS's ideas when we need to bring snack. So far this year HE has chosen mozerella balls, melon salad, peppers with hummus, and smoothies (but we made those).

And here I thought sending in pirate's booty instead of cookies for valentine's day was "healthier"
. I like your fruit kabob idea! We have to send in store bought items due to allergies, etc.
How about apple slices (they can come sliced and pre packaged from some stores), or baby carrots in a similar package. Not sure if you are a trader joe's shopper however they tend to have healther alternatives to sweet treats.
These are good ideas but do they make no sugar added with no artificial sweeteners? I am by no means a stickler about healthy snacks but I avoid sugar free stuff because of the crap that is usually in them. There are tons of apple sauces with no sugar added and no fake crap, even the squeezy ones which is great. It precut apples. Or grapes.
All fruit by Polander and Whole Foods brand is just fruit and pectin.
OP cheese, crackers, and grapes. String or Babybel are great if the teacher won't cut up the cheese. Pretzels and craisins.

At our local store we can find dried fruit and applesauce with no added sweeteners. I am used to making stuff and bringing it so I am look less at prepacked things. Great ideas here though. My son loves Babybell cheese too, that's a great idea!
