We will be PCSing from JBER, AK back to the lower 48 possibly JBLM, WA when I'm about 32 weeks along. The plan was to do a combination of driving and taking the ferry. That was before I found out I was pregnant again. We also have a 10 month old daughter. Some of the areas we would be driving through are very remote and have no hospitals that I'm aware of. Would it be stupid of me to go ahead with our plans as is, or should I just fly with my DD and DH can do the drive with our pups and we can meet up somewhere closer to our destination that's a little more populated?
Re: WWYD PCSing at 8 months pregnant
I wouldn't get too worried about hospital access at 32 weeks. You will probably be uncomfortable on the drive though, so consider that in your planning. Most airlines' policies are not to take passengers aboard after 35 weeks, but it's against federal law for them to ask you if you're pregnant or how far along you are, so it's kind of an honor system and revolves around what you and your doctor are comfortable with.
Personally, I would probably drive with MH, but flying is an equally valid choice it just depends what you're comfortable with.
