Has anyone tried it? I saw it at Target for $35 and have really wanted to try a mei tai, but haven't had the funds for the BabyHawk that I've had my eye on.

For the price it's good. You can definitely tell a quality difference between it and say a babyhawk but it's a fantastic way to get started on babywearing.
I'm not really an AP'er, but I have this wrap. I wish I would have found it sooner! I didn't get it until DS was 10 months old.
I haven't used it in a while b/c we've been bundled up all winter and I don't want to deal with that while we're out, but I used it a few times while shopping. It was very comfortable and I felt DS was very secure in it- something I never could get with the Moby I had.
I'm pretty sure it's on sale right now at BRU. I'd definitely recommend it!
