If you are planning on having another LO would you plan/try to avoid/ or dont care about having another winter baby?
I just feel a bit bad because LO was born the day after Christmas. Now that she is older,I am ready for spring so I can take her out more for walks but it was nice the first few weeks, at home in the cold weather snuggling with LO.
If I have another, I wouldnt mind having one early spring but as you know those things cant really be planned.
Re: Are you enjoying having a Winter baby?
I don't know that I would plan around avoiding winter, but it hasn't been easy. Ideally, I would have an March/April baby if we have another. I have a toddler and if I could go outside with both girls life would be so much easier. I just want to be able to go on a walk and I know DD1 would love it as well! I feel bad because she hasn't been able to enjoy the snow as often as I would like. She has been out in it, but I know she'd love to go out every day! She is an outside girl!
I don't want to plan, because last time DH and I planned it, the pregnancy ended in miscarriage. So, I learned that I won't plan.
No, but I keep thinking the bright side is that he will be older when it is nice weather so we'll be able to do more things. If he was born in the spring or summer he'd be so little. Now, when the nicer weather gets here he will be 5-6 months old and we can hop into the jogging stroller and hit the disc golf/ball golf courses and play in the grass.
I hate most about him being born the very end of December is the flu/cold season and the fact that his birthday is smooched between Christmas and New Years and he'll always have a cold weather birthday...DH said we may need to celebrate his half birthday with an outdoor party.
Henry Cavill...You're welcome!

I always thought a summer baby would be good, but people who had them tell me how cooped up they felt even though the weather was nice. So I guess every season has its perks. I am glad we are missing the height of cold and flu season at work and daycare. I go back in mid April so hopefully that will help as far as baby being exposed to colds at daycare. And I'm thinking ice skating birthday parties instead of summer pool parties will be okay haha!
i also have an October baby, and a perk so far is that October is a great vacation time. We went to Disney for his birthday and the weather was perfect and crowds low.
In some aspects, it's great (being on maternity leave and not having to walk to work through the snow, we'll have the time change while he's still young enough to not be on a schedule, he'll be old enough to enjoy the summer and fall more).
in other aspects, it sucks (being cooped up all the time, no walks, having to be SO careful with cold and flu season, he'll have a winter birthday party every year- although we'll have his friend party on his half birthday).
If we try to time another kid, I think we'd try for a May baby. That way I can still work easily around Christmas time (I work in retail), and I'd get the summer off!

I live in Texas, so winter hasn't hindered us getting out and about. If the weather wasn't so nice, I don't know what we would do!
My birthday is in May and I've always loved having a spring birthday. With a spring baby, we would be dealing with blistering heat with a newborn. And I wouldn't really want to get in a swim suit while hugely pregnant or immediately after having a baby.
So I guess I just don't really care that much. There are pros and cons to all seasons. DD's b day is Dec. 19th, and my family makes a much bigger deal than it actually is about her birthday being close to Christmas. Meh, not a big deal IMO.

My thoughts exactly! I'd much rather be big pregnant in the winter than in the summer and I love the extra time to be warm-clothes-ready.
Same here.
Ive had summer and winter babies and I like both. With DD and DS (august and sept) we were able to get out and walk right away and be outside. Now with DD#2 being inside isnt bad since I have the other two. She is in sleepers all day and night which is AMAZING! With DD#1 I had her in outfits all the time, dresses and those things since she was my first girl but now with baby #3 easy is best. Sleepers are great. I will say she is headed into 3-6/6m clothes so she might be in more outfits in a few weeks.
With number 4 we plan on waiting until DD#2 is one or around there so maybe another fall/winter baby. Spring would be nice but I want them to be closer in age if we waited longer or not as close if we didnt wait as long.
I have 2 winter babies (my oldest was born in Feb) so I don't know anything else but that. I love having them. I have never restricted myself from going out and doing what I wanted, so I guess that helps. I'm not worried about them getting sick what not.
My birthday is a week before Christmas, now my 2nd son was born 3 days after. I don't feel bad for him, I feel bad for ME and the crazy planning that will consume the next how ever many years we throw him parties
We are talking about a 3rd and I will try to conceive at a different time of year - but that's because I don't want to have 3 birthdays lumped together, if I can help it.
