Which one do you guys prefer for registering? I'm finally getting ready to register and really wanted to choose only one of these stores and probably do target too. Which one does everyone like more? I'm only in my second trimester, but wanted to ask some of you ladies since you've already been down this road. Thanks
Re: babies r us or buy buy baby?
We do not have a BBB near us and it was important for me to register where my friends and family could actually walk into a store. My only choice was BRU (and Target).
If you have a BBB baby near you, I'd definitely register there before BRU. BRU prices are constantly going up and down. You have to really pay attention to know if you are getting a good sale. I haven't had to experience a return yet, but I hear they are painful at BRU.
BRU was not good. Bad customer service.
Target I had some hiccups and mostly self serve.
As far as my guests side. No one went to BBB. Sadly. But I knew this since many were out of town and did not have one near them. Most people shopped at BRU.
BRU is where we registered.
We did have the issue of some items coming unavailable and that bugged me a lot since I took a lot of time to decide on items we wanted. I would think they could implement an improved customer service and provide customer notifications regarding registry items, but that would be my only concern overall. Other than that, they have sales pretty often and they offer a price match guarantee so you?ll be paying the lowest price there (although I never had to call on it).
I just received my BRU registry completion code. It came 5 weeks before my EDD and was 15% with no exclusions which helped us save a lot of money on the items we still needed to purchase.
All and all I would say BRU is the most practical as of right now, mainly because they are everywhere and they are just well known. As BBB grows, I think they will definitely grow in popularity so if you have a BBB locally, that makes sense. However, I will mention that a friend of mine went to a newly opened BBB this week and said that everything was much more expensive than BRU or Target.
Hope that helps a little.
New Mommy since 4/3/13
This. The BRU's around here are kind of gross, dark, and disorganized and the staff tend not to be helpful. I'd rather drive an extra 20 minutes to go to BBB.
Also as far as personal shopping goes with pricing one vs the other, BBB never has sales that I notice. Their grace is the frequent coupons which I use. BRU frequently has sales or buy 1 get 1 or other quantity sales.
