Donor with a Question

I have finally been clinic approved and I am moving forward with all of my final work to be a donor! My fear is that I won't get picked! As you can see I have 3 children of my own but have never done this before. So the big question is.....

Do I have a chance of getting selected even though I will be 30 in April?

 

I really feel a strong desire to do this and hope I didn't wait too long! Thanks ladies!

    Our donor was 32 at time of donation and we loved that she was older and a proven donor since we thought she'd be responsible and knew what she was getting into. Realistically, there are far more of us needing egg donors than egg donors available! You'll get picked, while being 30 may turn off some people, there are plenty who won't care.
    Lil'mamaz was born on Aug 21, 2014! She's PERFECT!

    Me (43) and J (45) - same sex couple. And we don't feel 40+!
    June'12 - First RE Visit
    Sept. '12 - Tubes removed
    Dec. '12 - Donor Egg/Donor Sperm IVF Cycle - 4 good embies!
    Dec. '12 - Fresh transfer, BFP! EDD 8/29/13
    Mar. '13 - Missed m/c at 16w1d, baby boy stopped growing at 15w4d
    Loss due to umbilical cord clot...baby was perfect. :(
    Jul '13 - FET#1 - c/p
    Sept. '13 - FET#2 - BFN
    Dec.' 2, 2013 - FET#3 with our last chance embie - BFP!!!
    Dec' 26, 2013 - hb!!
    EDD 8/20/14 with a baby girl!
    Little S was born on 8/21/14 - 8lb, 14 oz and 20 inches long.
    We live in Seattle and used SRM for our donor egg IVF cycle

    Our donor was 28, unproven, and had no children....we just really liked her as a person. I feel like people are looking for all sorts of things in a donor. The fact that you have had three successful pregnancies with 3 children would definitely be a plus in my book. I don't think your age will deter people from picking you. I felt that having an "older" donor was a plus. I figured she had more maturity to realize what a commitment it would be and would take better care of herself. Good luck. And thank you for being willing to give such a generous gift!!

    DD conceived with no issues, but born at 33 weeks due to PPROM
    loss #1-06/2010 loss #2-2/2011 loss #3-5/2011
    07/2011 dx with a Balanced Translocation
    9/2011-decided on domestic infant adoption 10/2011-signed with an agency and getting ready for homestudy :)
    12-2012-after being with our agency over a year and only shown to EM once we decided to talk with RE about DEIVF. Thru a crazy sequence of events we decided to go for it and we picked a donor MUCH quicker than anticipated
    1/13/2013-started lupron with anticipated transfer in mid Feb.
    ER 2/15 resulted in 15 eggs/10M/6F with ICSI.
    2/18 transferred 1-8cell and 1-9cell embie. Snuggle in little embies.
    positive on HPT 6dp3dt. Could this really be IT?!?! Beta 14dp3dt=2440. U/S scheduled for 3/20. Pregnancy Ticker

    Thank you. Honestly, without people like you I would never get to experience pregnancy and parenthood.

    (I'm lurking. I always wanted to donate eggs and had planned on it after we were done having kids. However, my daughter has Down syndrome and this excludes me.)

    I just wanted to say good luck! A coworker of mine has donated twice and she said it's such a great feeling to help others become parents.

    miscarried Sept 24th at 5 weeks 5 days
    Etopic  D&C and hysterscopy Nov 5 2013
    dx with pre genetic blood clotting dec 2013
    FET #2 Jan 31st  2014 
    Miscarried for a second time again at 5 weeks 5 days
    Currently fostering to adopt an amazing little 1 year old boy..P.J!
    FET#3  is Oct 29th 2014
    BFN on fet #3
    Last and FINAL FET coming JAN 28th 2015

    You are doing an amazing thing.  Don't be discouraged!  You may also fill a characteristic niche that IPs are desperate to find.  For instance, I wanted to find a tall blonde who was local.  With the exception of our donor, there were none in the database.  Age was not my biggest criteria.  Good luck to you!
