There's a flucking BAT in my apartment!!!

Just happened. Ran into the bedroom. Woke up dh. Grabbed DS. And apt. Office is calling animal control.

Don't know if it drooled into DS mouth no obvious bites. But probably will go to the ER just to be safe. For now hiding in the bedroom.

Pray for my nerves!!!!

I'm sorry, am I the only one who read this right? Drooled in your babies mouth? Is that some kind of bat thing that I don't know about?

No, I'm not sure about it either..

Pretty sure bats keep to them selves mostly.. And if LO was bit, wouldn't crying be involved?

In er, about to get exam. On mobile so a bit hard to text. No worries guys I was jk with the drool in the mouth thing. Trying to make a scary situation light with some humor that's all just was in such a hurry that I couldn't think about making sure to add an lol or something ;P

Seems like it... I think you would know if LO was bit?...

It does seem excessive.

But it's recommended by our state department and the er doc.

Sadly statistics have not been on my side so though I KNOW he's likely fine and wouldn't have needed it I also didn't want take that risk with something so rare but 100 fatal. EDIT also our doc said there's a chance of the bat bite not being very visible if it wasn't a deep bite.

Good news he cried once and is just fine. But I'll tell u what: seeing that bat hover over his crib darn near gave me a heart attack!! He's sleeping in the bed with me tonight!
