LO had her 4 month appointment on Thursday and since then she has been a mess. She was a tad bit conjected but the pedi said she should still have the shots. She wasn't running a fever and she did relatively well that night. Friday morning she woke up screaming adn continued for three hours. The congestion has gotten worse, and now she has a very phlemmy cough. She hasn't pooped since Thursday and the little bit she did today was a hard dry lump like that of dark green clay. She has been waking up during the night screaming. Today she has barely eating. I think she has had a total of 16 oz, when she normally eats about 35 oz. All she does is cry and let out these very long grunts. When I try to feed her it takes about an hour to get 2-3 oz down and then she want nothing to do with the bottle. She is spending more time moving the nipple around than eating. Fortunately she is not running a fever. I don't know if I should take her to ER or wait it out one more night and call the pedi in the morning? Please help.
Re: Immunizations and congestion/constipation
my little one has had the same poop issue a few times (not shot related) and i've found prune juice works wonders. My ped reccomends 1oz juice 1oz water.
If she doesn't have a fever i wouldn't worry too much. those shots do a number on the poor little guys. she should return to normal soon.
good luck
I finally called the after hours RN and they told me since she wasn't running a fever, not to take her to ER or Urgent care but if I wanted to I could. I put in a call to the doctor this morning and waiting to hear back.
Thanks.
