Preemie clothes

Sorry for lurking...I have 2 very good friends who are both facing early deliveries (30 and 32 weeks). I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of any stores that carry a good selection of preemie clothing. I've seen a few outfits here and there at Carter's, but that's about it. When I washed all of our own newborn and 3 month clothes in preparation for our LO, I realized how small Gerber run, so I was also thinking about buying newborn Gerber and intentionally shrinking them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and sorry if this has been asked already...I tried searching for previous posts but didn't see anything.

PP has good advice. I just wanted to add our NICU didn't allow clothes with feet on them either. We mostly used Gerber NB onesies since like you mentioned they run small (but not as small as premie clothes).

My first baby was born at 29 weeks. I got most of her clothes from Carter's. Walmart also had a good selection on preemie sleepers.

PP's have covered it but wanted to say that Target now has a preemie clothing section (at least some do)!

My LO was born at 3lbs 13 oz and Walmart was the only store in my town that had Preemie clothing. Please save your money and not buy a lot of Preemie clothing. I have a lot of outfits that he never got a chance to were because he grew so fast. He was able to fit in newborn clothing (Gerber & Carter) by the time he came home from the NICU which was about 2 weeks. They were a little big on him but he grew out of those quickly too.

I was just in burlington coat factory and noticed they had a decent preemie section at great prices. We had a hard time finding preemie clothes in our area (it's pretty rural), the only other place we found them was at Walmart.

We never used any preemie clothing -- the girls were both over 7lbs by the time they came home! We went straight to newborn Carter's clothes, and one of our girls has already outgrown those...

In addition to the stores PP listed, I also found some on Kohl's and Target's websites. I bought a bunch of preemie clothes on sale and kept all the receipts. We only removed the tags and washed them after I was discharged from the hospital.

N was born at 34 weeks and weighed 3 lbs 10 oz and 16.5 inches. We left the NICU 2 weeks later when he weighed 4 lbs, so he was in preemie clothes for a while. Gymboree has a great selection of preemie (up to 5 lbs) and small newborn clothes (5-9 lbs). The NICU he was in didn't have any rules regarding clothing once they gave the ok, but every hospital is different. Sleepers with snaps are great for wires.

LO was born at 5lbs 5oz. My SIL gave us an outfit that was Carter's. My ILs bought preemie clothes from Target and Walmart. Also, my LO was in preemie clothes until she was 2 months (born in November, grew out of clothes in January). Gerber also runs very small (I was surprised how much smaller), so you could give them newborn Gerber clothes too.
