Nutramigen?

I am supplementing with formula at night for my son. He had severe colic and eczema and after elliinating obvious dairy from my diet and using nutramigen he has been great. But I am reading bad things about the ingredients in nutramigen including 45percent corn syrup. Would you not mess with a good thing or experiment with soy or another formula?

Re: Nutramigen?

  • Our pedi wanted him on soy (we discovered a milk protein allergy too) and we've been using Alimentum for about 2 months now. We tried him on soy at the beginning (Enfamil Prosobee) but it made his tummy hurt and gassy. We tried Similaic Soy this past time, but an hour later he woke up crying and spit half of it up, so for right now we're sticking to the Alimentum until we go in for the 6 month check up. If it works I would just stick with it for now.

  • Alot of formulas have corn syrup. We tried to avoid them but put lo through torture as we kept switching. if Nutragamen works for you...id leave it alone. Were on that as well
  • That's what I am finding, that they all have some. Thanks!
