Goldenleaves

What can you tell me about starting a blog? I'm tired of repeating myself and I think a blog would be great to help with that. Also, I feel like I need to get it out and it might help someone else too.

So can you tell me how you started yours? How easy is it? Can you operate your blog from your mobile or only the computer? Are their privacy options? Is it free? I am new to all of this.

BTW anyone can chime in.

  • I started one on wordpress.com although I haven't really been doing anything with it. It was fairly easy and there are privacy settings to individual posts and the whole thing. It was free. I think it would be a headache to mess with on mobile. I only do it on the computer.

  • I have a Blogger account I keep up with when I'm pregnant. The link is in my siggy if you wanna check it out.  It's really user friendly and free. I have an app on my tablet, it runs an Android system, so I'm sure you could use the app on your phone for posting.

  • Blogspot is really user friendly as well. I used mine to document my feelings through my loss before I got pregnant with Nolan, then my pregnancy, and now I use it to keep up with him. It isn't anything fancy at all, but it works for what I wanted. The site is smilesforchange.blogspot.com if you wanted to check it out. I'm here if you have questions. Smile

  • I decided on blogspot because I like the formatting better than wordpress. I'm honestly horrible at the tech-y side of it! That's why my pictures are usually all clumped together, lol.

It's easy to set up! I have operated mine from my computer mostly, with the occasional tablet or phone post when Lauren was really sick and in the hospital. I started it as a way to get all my feelings surrounding her diagnosis "on paper". It also kept everyone updated on what was going on with my pregnancy and her health. It was hard for me to say a lot of it out loud without crying at first, so it was nice to only have to "say it" once. My family really respected that.

It's free! I know you can make it invite-only I just have no idea how.

    Good luck!!
