sub: For real, mom?
so, i thought this warranted it's own post because it just cracked me up so much. my mom came down this weekend so DH and I could do the race together this AM.
I completely forgot that we had run out of milk and so my mom had nothing to put in her coffee this AM. She was rummaging through the fridge for a substitute and i joked, "well, there's breast milk."
she comes out with noticably lighter colored coffee. i asked her what she had put in it.
Yup.
My mom put 2 ounces of my breastmilk in her coffee.
i.was.shocked. it still cracks me up. i'm laughing about it still. i never in a gazillion years would have guessed she would have done that. my mom did not breastfeed, by the way. so, she's not one of those midwifey, lactation hippys.
for real.

I agree, but not sure if you mean it in the same way. I mean it should be normal. We drink cow's milk easily. But human milk? no way! Such a weird stigma.

i totally agree....but my mom isn't exactly on the cutting edge of lactation. it was just so unexpected. so funny.
i actually put my extra breast milk in my coffee regularly
Oh I'm sure! That's why I'm saying. It shouldn't be weird, but it is, lol..

lol, yeah. That does seem strange to me.. Shouldn't, but I guess I have been trained by society to think so.
Actually as a species we are the only ones that continue to drink milk once weaned. And it isn't even milk produced by our own species as was pointed out already.
