Bathroom question for STMs

I thought I read somewhere that usually the week before you have your baby, you have lots of bowel movements. Is this true? I swear I think I spend more time in the bathroom than in any other part of my house! Good grief!

I'm a FTM but I have read that about 2 weeks before it can start like that. I thought I was about to go into labor by the number of times I was visiting the restroom (like once an hour). Turns out I had a stomach bug that I gave to my husband and several others. If nothing else, its a nice break from being stopped up right??

I thought I read about it starting up to 2 weeks before too! Thank you for confirming it for me! Oh and yes you're so right at least I don't have to worry about being backed up! Lol

I have read it is a sign of prelabour and usually happens from 2 weeks to a month before baby comes, but it doesn't happen for everyone either.

Don't know if it's true but i've been spending a fair amount of time in or rushing to the bathroom! I do know that as your body releases natural prostaglandins to help your cervix dilate and efface that it can affect the tone of your bowel as well. We can hope that labor is near!
