Russian adoptee's death ruled accidental

A follow-up on the story posted a couple weeks back about the Texas child adopted from Russia...   Full autopsy results are back and the cause of death was ruled to be accidental.  The investigation continues by both the sheriff's office and Texas DFPS.

    Same kid.  Russian media printed a variety of stories stating that he'd been beaten to death, which was then picked up by US media...  but all of that was before the autopsy was completed.  The sheriff's office and Texas DFPS had said all along that they were waiting on the autopsy results before making any conclusions.

    It's such a sad situation.

    Probably not. They likely just heard one way or another that a child had died and assumed/spread news of the worst.

    The child's external injuries that were reported to the russian's made it sound like the child had to have been beaten. Autopsy results are now consistent with accidental injuries (they are saying possibly he fell off a trampoline while the mother was inside using the restroom or the swing set)/self injurious behavior (which was in the child's past as well). Either way, this little boy died and that's incredibly sad. Russian and US media should not have run with the story until the autopsy was completed, as the authorities requested but like usual, the media has to add a spin to it.
