We are so dumb, we are really dumb!

So H and I took a ride to the baby furniture store that we got DS's bedroom set at so we could buy the toddler bed conversion kit. Ya know just be prepared. Well it's been discontinued, of course it has!!! Grrrrrr I am so angry with myself for not buying it initially. I've been searching high and low on the Internet last night and no dice. The whole purpose of buying the convertible crib and coordinating furniture was to keep that as his 'forever furniture'. It's so nice too but it looks like we'll end up having to buy a toddler bed. Sonofabeach!!!

  • I don't get the convertible cribs that don't come with the conversion kit.  How crappy that they make you buy it separately.  I would try contacting the manufacturer.  Maybe they can help.

  • That stinks. I second Kristin's suggestion to call the manufacturer. That's what I have to do to get the one for our crib.

  • We bought a "convertible crib" that doesn't come with a conversion kit. How awesome is that?!? Didn't realize it until we already set it up. I think you just buy a Hollywood frame to convert it eventually but I don't know.

  • Just as an FYI, we never had a toddler bed for my DS.  We took the front off his crib and put up a generic bed rail we got off amazon that is designed for cribs.  Then when he outgrew his crib, we just bought him a twin bed.

Was the conversion kit to turn it into a toddler bed or to turn it into a full size bed?  If it's just the toddler bed, I would suggest doing what I mentioned above and then moving to a twin.

Personally, I think toddler beds are a bit of a gimmick.  They really aren't needed.
