Talk to me about what the first 23 weeks looked like after your csection?
This is out third, but it's been almost 6 years, I can't remember.
My previous csections were quite easy, recoverywise.
How early can we start driving?

Re: Csection recovery timing
My surgery and recovery was textbook. I went into surgery at 9:00am, and was up by 4:00pm. As soon as the spinal wore off enough for me to stand, I was up. I showered the next morning. By the end of my 4 day hospital stay, I was taking care of Alice by myself. Yes, it was slow, but I was doing it on my own.
At home, it was a bit more difficult, especially trying to get up from laying flat. I did need help for a day or two, just because of how slow I was moving.
As far as driving, my OB told me I could drive as soon as I was off narcotic meds for 24 hours, and I felt comfortable.
3 weeks out, I was getting back to myself, but moving slow. I felt good enough to go do things, but it was VERY easy to overdo it, and set myself back. Example, I spent the day going to my OB appt, a pedi appointment, then stopped at Target. That evening, Husband had to take baby duty because I was aboslutely worn out and extremely sore. So just take it as easy as you can with 2 older kids.
After 7 years of no ovulation...
BFP#1 10/24/11 ~ EDD 6/29/12 ~ Natural m/c 11/2/11
BFP#2 2/3/12 ~ Alice born 9/26/12
With my third, I had a semi emergent c-section (my third c-section) and a PPH, so I didn't get out of bed for almost 24 hours. I left the hospital after 2 days though, I was ready to go and our insurance isn't very good.
I was driving, running errands, and picking my oldest up from school after one week. My OB would have had a heart attack, but you gotta do what you gotta do, my husband had to go back to work and I had two other kids who needed a mom
My incision did leak a little though and I definitely wouldn't recommended doing all that until 2-3 weeks post partum.
I didn't start exercising until 8 weeks but I probably could have around 6.

After the inital first 12 hours, my recovery was a cake walk, so much easier than I anticipated. They tried getting me up after 12 hours and I fainted:-/ I never fainted before so now I know what it feels like, or the symptoms right up to it. But I have really low blood pressure normally so I was put back into bed until morning and got up the next morning, took a shower, ate breakfast and was feeling really good.
I went home on day 3, and just focused on resting and taking care of DD. I was on strong pain meds for only the time I was in the hospital, only took motrin at home. I started driving after 4 weeks, but I didn't really drive anywhere until I went back to work.
