Side vent: I think they should sell single slices of costco birthday cake for pregnant ladies. I want cake, but I only a piece.
Also, I told DH when the baby is born I would like to have a cake at the hospital, because it is the baby's birthday. That way if/when the grandparents come to visit, they can have some cake too. If it is big enough, we could share with the nurses.
He thought my idea sounded weird.
Thoughts?
Re: Birthday Cake at Hospital
Excellent! I think I will have DH buy one of those small 3 inch cakes for me with whipped topping since by the time I have baby I am going to be dying for an overdose of sugar since I can't eat it now.
ETA: I just want to eat it. I have never heard about the birthday thing.
DH and I plan on getting a birthday cake for the new baby. My parents will serve it to our older kids after their visit.

Um, I'm always for cake. I've had some friends do a small 'birthday' cake or cupcakes in the hospital. It's NBD, just food, like someone bringing you snacks or dinner.
Our local grocery chain sells personal slices for $2...I might have gotten two yesterday. Maybe.

At the hospital my friend delivered at, they did this...it was a really sweet gesture I thought. You should check with the hospital or if you know someone who delivered there and see if they do it.
I'm the oldest of five kids, and we always decorated a cake to take to the hospital when we met the new baby. It was a nice way for us to feel like we had an important job.
When DD was born, her name was a surprise, so we gave my sister a sealed envelope with a card saying that her cake should say, "Happy Birthday, Amalia." That's how we announced her name to everyone.

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
