It's that time... The dreaded "Mom, (teacher) says I need to have this for tomorrow"... project... You know the one... The one where you have to basically put together a display of something, you have NONE of the supplies at your house, it's not necessarily a "kid" doing the project (it's "story of your Baptism"), and it's too late to run out and get them until DH gets home, and she was carrying the thing around in her backpack for a week and DH never bothered to forward the message (he's the one who primarily helps her with homework)...
And the baby's fussing/refusing to go down for his evening nap so I can have her do what she can for the whole thing...
Re: It's that time... The Dreaded..
That drives me crazy!
But wait! It gets worse! Now that my DD is in middle school, not only does she have projects, but they're often group projects. This means that several kids are coordinating the supplies they need to do the project.
Seventh graders, even really smart ones, are sometimes unrealistic about the best way to put together a project. I can't tell you how many times my kid has been the one who nobly volunteers to bring the obscure item that must be purchased from a craft store while the other group members are on the hook for tape, glue, and cardboard. Grrr!
Oh I HATED and to this day still HATE group projects!!!
I had to do FAR too many of them in college. And usually ended up with a far lower grade than if I had just done the project by myself..
