working from home?

I just started a new business working from home, it's exhausting. Anyone else do this?

I am hoping it will be worth it in the end!!

Re: working from home?

  • I WFH as a graphic designer with my own business. I'm happy to be able to do it, though with DH working SUPER long hours it's just me and DS a lot and I get burned out sometimes. It also gets stressful when I have tight deadlines and I'm alone and DS is having trouble sleeping.

Anyway, things are clearing up all around with DH's job and DS's sleeping. I know this is a good fit for us and that we are very blessed to be able to do it. I'm actually working on completing my website and then will be looking for more clients.

What type of business did you start?

  • I have worked from home since our first daughter was born in 2009.

I work part-time for the company I left (love that I can just log on to their network), and I also have two clients I do payroll and bookkeeping services for.   I work when it's convenient for me, although some days I have to wake up early before the kids so I can get some time-sensitive stuff done.

DH and I both love that I can be home all day with the kids during these early years.  I may go back to work full time when they're in school, but it just depends what is going on at the time.

  • I'm a home daycare provider. It has only been exhausting for me when I first opened and I had 2 - 3 month olds and 1- 8 month old. Now that they are all walking, talking, can feed themselves, and all on the same nap schedule. It is wonderful. I just love bring home with my daughter and watching her grow and being there for all her firsts.

That is awesome, I have been trying to find a balance and I know I will get it figured out eventually too, but right from the start it is a little challenging.

I started working for a business encouraging customers to shop for eco-friendly products that do not contain any harsh chemicals. We have products for all household items that people buy at the store regularly. Cleaning products, make up, some food items, health products, etc. It's a BBB company so I am pretty excited to have been able to find it.

I love that I can work when it is convenient for me too. That is the BEST part about WFH.
