Folding Baby Clothes - SQUEAL

I just finished washing and folding and putting away all our newborn clothing and can I just say....

OMG! I can practically palm a newborn onesie!!

And the SOCKS! They're so tiny!

Every time I pick up another pair I squeal because I can't believe I will have babies in these next month!

Anyone else crazy and started washing and putting away clothes? I just couldn't help myself!

  • I am so tempted to do it, but I have held off for now because I feel like it will just get dusty or something in the next few months and I'll want to wash it again.  Which I know is completely ridiculous because I have clothes that sit for months and don't get dusty.  My shower is at 32 weeks and I'll probably start washing and filling drawers after that.  I can't wait though!

  • I only have a couple of outfits so far. I want to wash them now, but I also feel like I should wait until May to start washing things so that they're as fresh as possible.

  • I love the tiny clothes! I haven't washed ours yet but I did pull all the newborn and 0-3 month stuff out of the attic and its so small compared to my toddlers clothes! I can't wait to hold my tiny newborn!

I lucked out and my SIL gave us all her DS's clothes [he will be almost exactly one year older than our LO]. I washed and sorted everything a couple weeks ago, then folded and put in a dresser this week.

I felt like the newborn stuff is crazy tiny! And then I got frustrated when I saw that not all clothes are the same size in a given month range, which REALLY threw off my anal sorting scheme.

  • All of our DD1s baby clothes are packed away in our basement storage space.  This weekend, our finished area remodel in the basement is going to be done.  Once it is, I'll be pulling out all of the clothes and organizing by size.  DD2 is off-season from DD1 so we will have to see what works.

I'm not washing or putting anything away until the dresser I ordered comes in.  Some time in April I think.

I am stunned by how small the newborn clothes are now that DD1 is 17 months.  And the diapers?!?!?  Wow.  So tiny.

  • I washed and put them all away last week. I was squealing the whole time about how tiny and cute they are. DH just looked at me like I was losing my mind.

  • Awwww.  So fun.  DH and I started going through baby clothing tubs the other day and I kept getting all teary eyed thinking of my big kids wearing them and getting excited for #3 to get pix in his brother and sister's clothes.

  • I know, its hard to believe a person can be that tiny! I bought some new born diapers yesterday, and even the diapers are cute because of how small they are!

  • I just sorted through all of DS's baby clothes for a consignment sale next week.  I pulled out all the stuff that looked neutral enough to use for DD when she gets here....the seasons are completely wrong though- so I'm glad we're having a girl instead of needing to buy even more boy clothes.

I'm planning on doing some serious shopping at the consignment sale for DD and for DS's summer clothes.  I've been looking forward to this for awhile!

I'm not washing anything yet, but the stuff I pulled I did put in a drawer for her!

  • Mine are (mostly) sorted into sizes but the stuff that I bought all has tags on it still.  My friend gave me a bunch of newborn stuff her 6 week old grew out of, but it's all in the bag still.  I probably will just have my mom wash stuff while I'm at the hospital.  I have enough "big boy" clothes to wash now without adding an extra load!
