I just had an ultrasound yesterday bc of pain on my left side but the tech coudnt see much. She didn't let me see anything. She said there was possibly a gestational sac in the uterus. I'm still having pain on the left side. No spotting. And I'm so crazy bloated and gassy! I don't want to mistake gas pain for a possible ectopic pregnancy. I wish the tech that did the ultrasound had done a better job. She totally rushed through it and didn't seem like she was all that great at her job. What would you do? Let your doc know the pain is lingering or wait it out? I don't think another ultrasound is going to help much right now. But a friend had an ectopic and she had very little pain before it ruptured, and then she said it felt like she was stabbed in the belly.
Re: Left sided pain
Having the same pain! Also on my left side... I've been reading about this all day... I just got my positive test today, and haven't sorted out a OB, an appt, etc yet!
However, I did read at babycenter.com that a little faint pain is normal during this time! Usually on one side...lower back pain... with no blood, it seems the consensus is that everything is fine! Good luck! And Congrats!! ... I hope our pains fade soon!
Ive read that, too. The descending colon is on the left which could explain the pain if it was from gas! I'm pretty sure I ovulated from the right side; the corpus luteum can also cause some pain and discomfort on one side. Actually, I felt a lot of cramping on both sides during O time but that doesn't mean anything. My left ovary is a scumbag! Maybe that is why I'm having pain on the left. ??

This. The tech is not qualified to tell you anything. You need to get the official results from the doctor after he and the radiologist have made their conclusions.
