I don't know if this helps, but DS2 usually wakes up around 6am on weekdays. When he wakes up at that time on the weekend, I usually nurse him and then put him back down like I do in the middle of the night and he goes back to sleep for a few hours.

DS is up between 430 and 530 and I nurse him and put him back down. He'll sleep until 7.
this did not work for us. I would nurse, and he would be wide awake and want to play. I saw a suggestion to not feed them right away, so we would get up and go play for a while, when he showed signs of being hungry then I would feed him. It worked for us. At first he would get up and play in his crib awhile, but eventually he started sleeping later.
I have twin girls with one being an early riser (5:30 on the dot). We have tried giving her a bottle and getting her back down and it's never worked. We've tried adjusting her bedtime - both earlier and later and that didn't work either. It only made her very cranky at her lovely 5:30 wake time. She's always happy at this hour and wakes up full of energy and ready to go. I've just started to face the fact that I'll never sleep in again.
My son always woke at 5 or 6 am to eat then back to sleep for a few hours but now that he is turning 1 yr this week we wanted to break him of this also so I could stop nursing all together. I have been sending my husband in to put his paci back in his mouth and he usually goes back to sleep as long as there is no crazy full wet diaper. He has done okay but today he got up at 6:30 and we just let him sit in there and play a little and he did fine. So right now waking at 6:30 for the day. I was hoping for 7 but I figured it may all come in time or it is what it is.

Good luck!
