Progesterone Level Confusion

I went in on Feb 12th for progesterone test my level was .4 and I was cleared to start provera. I ended up not starting provera. I went back yesterday (28th) and it was 3.1.

I was at work when the nurse called and she left a message simply saying your progesterone level is 3.1 do not start provera. What does this mean? Does this mean I ovulated? Is that why I cannot take the provera? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm just confused because I have never had a progesterone over .5.  

TTC since March 2012

DX PCOS, HSG Clear, SA Low Morphology

4/13 - 7/13: Clomid 50mg twice, Clomid 100mg once

8/13 - 11/13: New RE & Redoing all tests

12/13: Hopefully start Femera 2.5mg

    Someone correct me if I am wrong, because sometimes these can be in different units in the U.S.  I would say no,  that number doesn't mean ovulation.  At least here. I believe they like it over 10.  Was it taken 7dpo?

    Was your progesterone tested 7 DPO? 

    ETA:  Kati's response is more detailed.  If you don't know how many DPO you are, the results don't mean much.  Increasing progesterone can indicate O.

    September 2012: Start IF testing

    DH (32): SA is ok, slightly low morph, normal SCSA  Me (32): Slightly low progesterone, hostile CM, carrier for CF, Moderately high NKC, High TNFa, heterozyogous mutated Factor XIII, and +APA

    October 2012-May 2014: 4 failed IUIs, 3 failed IVFs, and 1 failed FETw/donor embryos

    November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues.  Converted to freeze all due to lining issues.  2 blasts frozen on day 6!

    January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues

    April 2015: FET #2.1

    My guess is no, since the OP was about to take Provera. Which tells me she doesn't know if or when she ovulated, only that she is having a longer cycle.

    OP, I think you need a retest of your P4 in a couple days.

    I bet you are right, probably was a day 21.

    Thank you ladies. It was CD55. I don't know if I Od.  I no longer chart, I did for several months and no sign of O. OPKs never worked for me and I was not being monitored because this was my last cycle before treatment. The nurse called me back and said I need to go in next week to be retested unless I get AF before then.
