Yogurt

I bought a huge tub of yogurt and LO has not finished it. What do you do with leftovers? Do you freeze it? Does freezing deplete nutrients?

Re: Yogurt

  • I think you should eat the leftovers.  Make yourself a smoothie.

i would but iris full fat yogurt. I'd rather use my calories eating ice cream instead :-)

Keep it in the refrigerator? Yogurt keeps for quite a while, just don't feed him right out of the container.

This would be the logical answer, OP.

I didn't know it kept for long. Does it keep longer than a week? It doesn't say on the container.

  • If I get big tubs, I freeze in into ice cube trays then transfer to a freezer bag once frozen.

I'm one of those weird people that throws away most things milk related (besides butter and actual milk) if it sits in my fridge for more than a week, open.

i guess I am one of those weird ppl too lol.

  • Make little yogurt dots (use a piping bag or a Ziploc with a hole cut in one corner).  You can either use plain yogurt or flavor it with one of your purees.  Then freeze them for snack time.

  • I would think there has to be a date somewhere on it.  Have you looked on the lid and on the side of the lid?  I've never bought a container of yogurt without a use by date.
