for mobile: Aside from being excited about baby..
I'm also excited to be able to get back into my running and burn off this excess stuff! I had planned to run throughout but after 2 m/c before this one, I chickened out and gave it up for the duration. And now my thighs are showing it. Yuck. All dimply and and ew. I'll be at or over 200 by the time this baby gets here and so ready to get back into after recovery.
Re: Aside from being excited about baby..
I agree! While I didn't have any history of miscarriage (sorry for your losses!), I still felt uncomfortable continuing running. The last time I ran was a five mile race a few days after I found out I was pregnant. And I think that same race, which is at the end of July, will be my motivator to get back into running after baby is here. I've continued with walking and light lifting but I miss running! The women who run until they're 38 weeks are unreal!
I also have the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred DVD ready to go for after baby is here. I've heard great things about it from several new moms.
I have that DVD too, it's pretty good. I did that on rainy days when I couldn't get outside. Now I have a treadmill though so that helps. Boggles my mind though trying to figure out when I'm going to find time to get in an hour run between a baby connected to the boob constantly and a busy toddler that doesn't nap..
I hear ya! I was in a really good place weight and fitness-wise before finding out I was pregnant. My arms were shredded, my belly was flat, and all that jazz. But I was in a similar situation as you - except we had IF and a m/c before this pregnancy -so I backed off my tough workouts right away.
Ugh, I look in the mirror and don't recognize myself. I'm both excited to get back to where I was and dreading the first few (many!) workouts when I realize exactly how out of shape I've gotten.
Me too. I just feel squishy & flabby, yuck. The stupid hernias I get when pg (harmless to LO) swell up like baseballs when I'm on my feet too long, and get worse when I workout, so I've gone down to only about 1x per week and not even breaking a sweat.
I'm going to get back into Crossfit pp - it will kick your butt & leave you lying on the floor completely wiped, but the workouts are pretty short which I found was key as a new mom with less time to dedicate to working out.
Holla! I am still running 3 miles two or three times each week, but I go so slow. I miss pushing it, sweating like a maniac and having sub-10 minute miles. I'm lucky if I get one done in under 12 right now.
Also, I miss biking! I do stationary rides, but how lame is that? I want to go up and down hills, feel a breeze and have fun. Too bad baby won't be able to join the fun until next summer

Ah you reminded me of how much I miss spinning too! Unfortunately those classes are hard to find in my area.

This all the way!! Scary and exciting all at the same time!
Oh gosh I can't wait either!! I worked hard at losing weight before our wedding, and knocked off the sizes!! I started running a few months before the wedding, and actually had to stop running bc I was losing too much and it was getting to close to the wedding to get my dress altered!! I ran a few times after the wedding, to lose a few more pounds for a wedding i was a bridesmaid in a month later... but then found out i was pregnant! I kept walking, but stopped running since it was still very difficult for me at that point.
I was so proud of the way my body was looking right before I got pregnant. It was the best i had looked since before i got pregnant the first time. I can't wait to work at getting that back again! I hope I can balance losing weight and breastfeeding.
I hear you. I've been walking on the treadmill and it makes me miss being able to run out 3 miles on my lunch break, actually work up a sweat, and get those endorphins from running that I use to. Or being able to go out running with my music playing etc.
And ITA on the dimply thighs. Even when I look down at my legs with pants on, they gross me out because they're bigger
