In the last week or so my little guy has started waking once or twice in the middle of the night. I go in, put in the paci, rock his RNP and in a bout 5 mins the paci falls out and he is back asleep.
Any ideas why this sudden change?

Ugh. me too. I feel the same way.Except, I feed her, she seems really hungry and really awake twice during the night recently.... when she used to sleep 10 hours straight. Sigh.I don't know why the change, I hope it is just a quick phase...nbsp;
When DD wakes up at night she is wide awake and hungry too. Every couple of nights she sleeps all night though. It's so frustrating because there's no rhyme or reason to why shedoes what she does. It's just a coin toss eery night. And I don't do well with an unreliable sleep pattern.
When I look at the monitor he is fussing and eyes are open. But he settles quickly once I go in there so he doesn't seem hungry at all. He sleeps about 10 hrs too and was never waking like this before.

Sounds like the start of 4 month wakeful. For Hallie she started the 4MWP by adding in a feeding at a time. She had been sleeping 8 to 4 before eating. Then she added a 2 am feeding. Then a midnight. Then started waking nearly every hour. This all happened over about a 2 to 3 week time frame. She slept until 4 last night before eating.

My LO has been the same. Usually he goes down at 6:30 and wakes between 12-2am. Lately he has been going down at 6:30pm and waking at 11 (takes a paci) then 1am (bottle) and then 4-5am (BF).
He also is wide awake when I go in there. I too am hoping he is adjusting to sleeping without swaddle.
