Trying to Get Pregnant

::peeks in:: hello again!

Hi everyone!

A short background on me...

I actually started posting on TTGP after my first loss, a c/p in Feb 2012 and became fairly active here.

But after my second loss in June, I made my way over to TTCAL, which is where I have spent most of my bumping time since, albeit with a few brief times on PGAL and some break periods.

I think I introed here again in November, but I didn't end up posting much then.  I have found myself lurking more over here again and would like try participating in both boards and see how that feels for me.

I am approaching 40 in May and have a son and am trying for a sibling for him.  I recently went through a thorough repeated loss testing and both my RE and OBGYN attribute the main reason for my losses to poor egg quality.  I don't seem to have as much of a problem with quantity it apears, which is good.  But just waiting to get that good egg.

I also have a small area of calcifications in the outer layer surrounding my ute, but it's not very large and would only affect development should the embryo try to implant there.

I may have something called adenomyosis, but my OBGYN feels confident that since I had my son only three years ago it wouldn't have progressed quickly enough to be preventing me entirely from having another successful pregnancy.

Those are the main things that were discovered in all the work up.  As a result of it all, I am trying progesterone supplements (suppositories yay!), baby aspirin, DHEA, and an extra dose of folic acid and B vitamin in something called Folgard.

We talked about IVF but the RE felt that I had just as good a chance of conceiving on my own as I would with IVF since it's very likely that given the poor quality issue we might not end up with enough good ones to transfer.  I'm okay with that, overall, all things considering.

I also talked about clomid with my OBGYN and why my RE didn't mention it and since I am releasing eggs and getting BFPs on my own she didn't feel like it would be worth the risk of possible damage to my lining that can happen some times.  I'm okay with all of that too.

So, this is our first cycle since my last loss and completed testing where we are off the bench and I am just about in the middle of my 2WW currently.

I look forward to reconnecting here.  I remember so many ladies from my time here before and I am both happy and sad to see you here.
