Rumble tuff breast pump!?!

So uhc gave me two choices for companies to order my breast pump for. I chose Lucina care since they had a better pump even though it was going to take twice as long.
Well 2 months later and a change from hospital grade to standard double electric due to bs from my insurance company I got my breast pump in today. The thing no lie looks like a toy. Looks like a piece of crap... And the neck will not fit any bottles but the 2 it comes with ... Wth?!?!?!?
Anyone else??

  • I wasn't even able to find an american site that carries the pump or parts.  I thought that company had Hygeia pumps as well for some reason, i thought that was one of the DME's they had given me to try.  So weird!  If edgepark was able to get ahold of any Hygeia pumps I really suggest Hygeia pumps, it is a closed system, comes with a 3 year warranty and a year member ship to La Leche League.
  • Edgepark told me to call back on April 1st to order a Hygeia, you could do that.

  • I stayed on hold with Edgepark for 20 min and got disconnected after being shuffled around three times. Then called back and stayed on hold for 10 minutes and the baby started flipping out so I had to hang up.
Be prepared for a long wait.

  • I've just got one yesterday too. Same situation, they called 2 months ago to tell that the melodi hospital grade won't be covered by UHC and offered to send another one 'almost as good'. waited all that time to receive THAT!??!! the box seemed having been opened before (no seal) and this thing does not look good to me either. I'm not going to try it, just will return and will look for other options but will be good to hear from somebody who has tried it.
  • I recently received the Rumble Tuff Pump from Lucina Care. I was borrowing a friends medela pump prior to receiving mine. I too was weary of the Rumble Tuff since I had not heard of it before. But after using it I was actually impressed with its ability. I have been able to pump even more ounces then I was with the Medela. I also took it with me on a road trip and was impressed with its ability to pump on the go with battery power. I was still able to pump just as much on battery life as when its plugged in. Though it seems cheap it is actually very functional. Also to order additional accessories you can go to their website at Rumbletuff.com. I will be ordering an extra set of bottles. Just wanted to give you all some first hand perspective. Hope that helps! :)
  • I just ordered the Rumble Tuff from Lucina using UHC... I was and am very skeptical. I have a Medela PIS but it's 3 years old... I read a ton of reviews and opted for this pump. There has been so many complaints about the pumps insurances are providing.. Even the recognizable name brands seem to be making a cheaper less effective version for insurance companies... It's infuriating!
  • With UHC you should be able to go through Byram Healthcare, too. Also, the guy at UHC said that starting June 1, you can get you pump covered through them in store at Target....not sure of that process, but might be worth checking out.

I am getting ready to purchase a pump through target (UHC UMR insurance). I was told that I can purchase any electric pump in the store(would vary based on plans probably) (not online) fill out the claims form and be reimbursed. I had thought about just getting the insurance medela through edge park since instill have the accessories from my old pisa but think I will just go to target so I don't have to deal with the headaches. Hopefully the reimbursement isn't a hassle!!
