So yesterday, DD ate about 4oz less than usual, about 24oz. The recommended consumption for her is 28-32oz daily. She normally takes 7-8oz at a time, but has taken no more than 4 at a time today, even her first feeding after not eating for 13 hours.
So far today, she's only eaten 16oz., and we are 3 hours from bedtime.
She is on solids, a little oatmeal with fruit in the am, and a veggie at night, but it's never impacted her formula consumption.
No fever, but she is incredibly fussy. Would you call the pedi? Or give it another day?
Re: LO eating less, when would you call the pedi?
I think it's normal at this age for babies to be less interested in FF/BFing b/c they are eating solids & are also more interested in looking around, etc.
But, if she's fussier than normal, then yes, I would wait a day & call the pedi. It couldn't hurt.
She cut her 2 bottom teeth already, but when we were at the pedi last week he said her top gums were really hard and swollen, so it's definitely possible.
No congestion really, and she's had 6 wet diapers and 1BM so far today, so I guess she's getting enough. I just always worry when she was less because she is in like the 25% for weight.
6 wet so far, so she's doing okay at this point. I'll probably call if it keeps up through tomorrow.
I exclusively nurse so I never know how much she has eaten in a day, so I don't think that 4oz less would be that noticeable or cause for concern for me. I'd give it a day and see if the fussiness improves. Hopefully she is just having an off day.
ETA I just re read and saw that it was more than 4 oz today. I would call tomorrow if she still seems off.
