So some of you may find this interesting/ helpful. I did but I'm a medical nerd.

Re: Ear infections
last 4 paragraphs were the most interesting.
i was all ready to say "ha. no antibiotics for ear infections!" until i read this.....
Although many children with infection improve without any antibiotics, there are some patients with AOM in whom antibiotics continue to be recommended. These include children aged 6 months and older with severe signs or symptoms, including moderate or severe otalgia, or otalgia for at least 48 hours accompanied by a fever of 102.2? F or higher, and any child with a ruptured eardrum.
I think antibiotics are prescribed too soon in a lot of cases.
I kinda laughed at that because how is a 6 month old going to tell you they have severe otalgia? (ear pain)- Basically you'd have to go off the 102.2 or higher temp with the red/bulging ear
So I'm not a doctor but my doctor did recommend that my son have an allergies test if the ear infections continue. A pul. ped can do at 6 months of age. Love my pedi because he isn't quick to prescribe meds. My son has had 3 ear infections in almost seven months and he's always sick....daycare baby. I know how you feel asales727. It's very frustrating.
