Question for other MSPI moms

Do you avoid soy oil or soy lecithin?

I have been avoiding it, but I just realized last night that something (for a few weeks) I had been eating and I had been giving my son contained soy oil. He has been totally fine and normal. I know that the soy oil and lecithin aren't always allergenic, so I was just curious how many of you avoid it or don't avoid it?

Thanks!

I do.  It depends on the person.  If your baby can tolerate it, that's great!  Soybean oil is in EVERYTHING.

DS tolerates both of those but doesn't tolerate soy protein. I also introduced soy flour things and he's had no problem with that. However, soy protein gives him bloody stool.

Kevin was still reacting even after I cut dairy, soy and soy lecithin, so I cut soybean oil too.  His reaction finally cleared, so we're still completely soy free.

I may try to add soy lecithin back into my diet to see if he reacts as I didn't test it separately during my elimination diet.  It would open up some options in my diet.

If he's not reacting, I wouldn't worry about.
