Foot worries

I have relatively large feet (size 9.5 generally). I also have a history of body dysmorphia and OCD. I spent one year unmedicated and had to return to taking prescription pills partly because my obsession with my feet and fear of others seeing them was leaving me house-bound.

During the time when my symptoms were worst I started thinking that maybe I would never get pregnant because of the risk of my feet growing.

Now that I'm medicated again my obsessions and compulsions aren't nearly as bad. I'm about 13 weeks pregnant with a baby I didn't plan but am so excited to have. My fiance is stoked as well. Of course, despite my excitement I'm terrified about my feet growing...enough so that thinking about it brings me to tears.

Has anyone else had such awful fears regarding their bodies changing? Does anyone have recommendations?

  • All I can recommend is therapy.

  • A lot is going to "change" with your body but nothing that can't or won't change back.  In regards to your feet.... I wear a size 9, sometimes a 9.5 in some shoes.... my feet did not grow. They did swell up towards the end and I needed wider shoes but they did not grow.

  • I should say 'it's what's on the inside that matters'......but if you must know, runway models typically have size 10 feet : )
