Would you put the potty where it's going to always be or move it closer to you (like in the same room) for the training period? We're going cold turkey in a week. Eek!
C uses the big potty but I'd keep it in the bathroom. I wouldn't want C learning that he has the option to pee all over the house you know? Also, sometimes they miss, even while sitting. ;-)

No joke! Just when I think I'm safe, he ends up peeing on my foot. Never thought "Hold your penis down!" would be comng out of my mouth on a regular basis!
Our potty is in the upstairs bathroom by his bedroom, though we may end up moving it downstairs as that is where he spends most of his time. Only problem is that the litterbox is also in that bathroom. Is it bad for DS and kitty to share a bathroom? Ha!
We have the potty in the bathroom. Most of the time he prefers to use the big potty. Now if I can just get him to actually pee while sitting on it, I'll be happy.

Sorry I don't know how to bold on mobile but I agree, we always have to say "point penis down" every time. Did you know urine can get trapped between the cushion and plastic on those toilet rings oy vey. Yeah he only goes in the bathroom either with the toilet ring or his frog potty. We haven't done underwear cold turkey yet though I need a string of days off. Good luck Jilly!
Guess we are the exception to the rule when we first started potty training I moved the potty all over the house we had one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Now her downstairs potty stays in the bathroom but her little potty is in our bedroom in case she needs to go while I'm nursing it's easier for me to be able to see her.
Now that she is more "trained" she will go on the big potty when we are out about and before bed/bath time
we had the potty chair in the bathroom. but when we really went at pting for the diaper off for a few days we just used the big potty. she wasnt scared of it and wanted to go there instead. we were then pt'd in a week.
good luck!

We're not actively PTing right now, but we do have a little potty and they have one at daycare. B decided to sit on it the other day, poked at his penis, and prounced, "penis goes down!" with authority. I guess daycare really stresses that fact. He then proceed to repeatedly poke at his penis, giggle, and say "Bye-bye" each time. It.was.hysterical.
