Turtle Reunion

After making a few calls and having a search party arranged, the turtle was found at the 4 and 5 year old classroom.

DH and DS picked me up from work and we went home. I felt DS's backpack when I was going to take DS out of his car seat and felt the figure of a turtle.

We were inside and DH said "Did I tell you, the teachers at the daycare found the turtle?" He did not tell me but I figured it out.

That night DS was so happy before bed time because he had his turtle!  He put the substitute sea turtle on the table in his room to make room for the missed turtle on the bed.

The turtle that is coming from Georgia will remain hidden in case of emergency. I can't stand to have both turtles out and search for 2 turtles.

I think the preschool cheered him up and he had a good day. They sent him home with a picture of a clown fish.

    Love a happy ending!

    We keep a second stuffed chicken for DS, ever since the first one was maimed by my parents' terriers. We just rotate them out-- really nice when one gets germy or gross. :)

    Smarter moms than me have suggested keeping both loveys in rotation so they seem more alike in terms of wear. Most kids will shun a brand new edition of a beloved friend preferring the old, beat up smelly one. Of course, when I offered DS the new Goose he much preferred it to his old broken-in one. I predict he's the kind of guy who would jettison a perfectly nice middle aged wife for a shiney new hot one.

    We had to make a switch from an old to a new but with Chris it wasn't too difficult because he was used to "Mr. Elephant" taking "baths" from time to time as he liked to chew and suck on the trunk so Mr. Elephant's truck got pretty stinky.  Whenever Mr. E would take a "bath" he'd look fluffy and new.  So when there was an unfortunate "poop-splosion" one day and we had to switch him out for the new one, he just assumed Mr. E had another bath.
