Trouble TTC

If you've had surgery...

Did you develop a cough after? The anesthesiologist warned that it's normal to have throat irritation, but last night and today it's gotten worse instead of better and I feel like I have a full blown cough. Is this common? I'll probably call the surgeon tomorrow if it's not improving, just wondering in the meantime...

Re: If you've had surgery...

  • I had a pretty bad cough after my surgery a few weeks ago. My doc said it was because of being intubated and that it should subside within a few days. Wouldn't hurt to call though if it is bad enough

  • I've never had a cough or any throat issues after either of my surgeries. I would imagine it's not terribly uncommon, but it still couldn't hurt to call just to be safe.

  • Ok good to know, thanks! I'm a bit of a hypochondriac and had convinced myself that I was getting pneumonia, but I feel a little less worried now : I'll still call tomorrow if it's not better, just in case. Thanks again!
