xp: hubby free babymoon?

I planned on having a girls' getaway this year, but didn't plan on getting pregnant. I decided that I can't wait until after LO is done nursing to plan my beachy escape, so I'll just do it fat and pregnant and alcohol free!

I'm just looking for suggestions on where to go. I'll be traveling from CO and meeting friends from NY. My top criteria is that it has to be an affordable BEACH getaway. Love Hawaii, but don't think that will fit in the budget. I'm trying to keep it all under $500 or so, for each person. I'm thinking the East Coast will be most affordable. My main plan is to lather up the sunscreen and lie on the beach all day, have some nice dinners with friends and maybe a little dancing at night. I'm looking to go for a three to four day weekend at the end of April.

So what beautiful beach escapes can you recommend for me? Include any and all details! Thanks, ladies!

  • I would check out Travelocity for some deals. At the end if April to guarantee beach time I would think Florida would be best as far as the east coast.

  • The Keys. Stay at Hawks Cay on Duck Key. Not a whole lot of beach but it's a great resort, in the middle of the keys so it's easy to get anywhere, a separate adult pool, and incredibly affordable. We went for a long weekend last year. Bonus is that it's relatively easy to get to and won't take forever.

  • Love Clearwater Beach! Easy to get to from Tampa and the beach is gorgeous. There are a couple of great hotels good restaurants.

  • Florida!! West coach beaches are definitely the best. I highly highly suggest Siesta Key. It's a great little beach town, perfect for sunbathing and enjoying the beautiful water and powdered sugar sand. They have a few hotels in the area but when we go we usually rent out a house on the beach. Siesta Key is by far my favorite Florida beach (and I'm a Florida girl!).
