2nd Trimester

Is this REALLY normal? Vaginal burning.....

I can't seem to get any answers from the doc or the internet. I am feeling desperate!  I've had burning and irritation since I got pregnant. Yeast and BV infections are gone. I have no other infections. Can pregnancy CM cause burning and irritation??? Is it normal in pregnancy for some women???

I am scared that maybe they're missing something.  It's really depressing me bad. I miss having a nice and normal sex life with my husband!!!!!! Any advice?! Anyone else going through this??!

Thanks in advance. :(

  • Actually, cm can irritate things because of the constant wetness. Is it red or bumpy at all? If so, I would say you essentially have diaper rash. Get some a and d.

Otherwise, I would have your ob run some more tests.

Last she checked, she said it was red and she could see why I would be irritated. She said she didn't see anything fishy...

I am sorry. I had that during my last pregnancy. I bled for over 20 weeks, and had a horrid case of diaper rash.

There are a few other options, that my doc took me through. Pregnancy can cause increased sensitivity to lotions, soaps, and laundry detergent. Make sure you are using products that are dye and fragrance free. Do not use fabric softener on your underwear. Make sure your underwear is 100 percent cotton.

Other then an infection, try the above.

I hope it gets better soon!

  • I had a problem with burning, itching and redness in my first trimester and all the paps came back normal and i tried so many things to get it to stop. I came to find out it was because of my toilet paper. Since i was going pee so much more i was wiping a TON, so i switched to sensitive baby wipes then blotting dry with toilet paper and it cleared up.

It got so bad sometimes that i couldnt get out of bed because walking made it hurt so much, it might not be the same for you but you might want to look into trying different products than you usually use in the area. I would recommend only changing one at a time to see if there is a difference.

  • I agree with using dye free and scent free soap. I was a bit like this while pg with DS. I would suggest wearing pantyliners and changing them 2 to 3 times a day. The constant moisture is what irritated me. Also, sleep wothout panties if you can to let things air out a bit. I hope you feel better soon!

  • I have the same issue. One day everything will be fine, the next I feel like I have BV or a yeast infection. It sucks! I try not to use to much soap in that area to avoid irritation, which I find helps. I hope you get relief soon. :)

  • There's a lot more blood down there at the moment so your going to feel more tender and swollen... Also you produce more discharge than normal, try wearing sensitive pantie liners to keep the moist away from your skin and pop some bepanthen on there.. It works wonders!! X
  • Thank you so much ladies!!!! I will try everything you all suggested!!! All of your replies make me feel a lot better!! I am glad I'm not alone! Thank you!! :) I hope I find something that really works!
